we recommend
  • Early submission of concept for feedback and guidance BEFORE the agency produces the creative (it is less expensive for the client to amend concepts than production art)

  • Recommended the below time frames:

  • 3-4 weeks before campaign, submit creative concepts (storyboards) through to ninemsn (agency)

  • Feedback from ninemsn (Head of NH, Adops)

  • Amendments based on feedback (agency)

  • Additional feedback from ninemsn if required

  • Creative cannot have a zIndex value of more than 500. This is to ensure that the nav functionality on the ninemsn homepage is not affected in any way. The nav bar has to appear over the top of the creative execution

  • Video not permitted in the OTP
  • Streaming of additional external video assets is not permitted
  • Two (2) separate tags must be supplied - one for the OTP and one for the leave behind

  • Please reserve the final two seconds of the ad for your call to action, as ads that end abruptly without communicating their message are likely to be returned for revision

  • Minimum dimensions 50 x 20 pixels

  • Must display the word Close and an X symbol and should be designed to stand out from the ad and page background

  • OTP creative must launch as soon as the page loads - executions cannot be paused to launch from the medium rectangle later in the session

  • OTP and floating leave behind must have a frequency cap of 2 per user over whole flight

  • Frequency cap must be done on the 3rd party side (except for the eyewonder tags)

  • Audio may be used but only for the duration of the OTP. This has to be user initiated with a mute/sound on/off button

  • Sound is off by default but leave behind can be set up to replay with sound on by default

  • Sound must be at 15% of the original maximum volume

  • fly zone / OTP Positioning
  • The fly zone is the space on the page in which the OTP is allowed to be placed

  • Must not run outside fly zone area, over navigational areas (tabs, nav bar, Our sites), tickers, ninemsn logo or Special Features area

  • The fly zone area is the maximum size - it is not compulsory to use the entire area but it may not be exceeded

  • The fly zone is set flush with the top right hand corner and under the navigation bar

  • Creative Elements (eg.flash files) to be sent along with the Tags so we can check these are to spec (excluded for eyeblaster tags as we have access to the eyeblaster user interface)

  • The OTP must be set up as a floating element - it cannot launch from an existing ad property (eg. banner, tower, island)

  • Please be aware that you need to build the creative to specification of the 3rd party you're serving the ad through. EG Atlas, eyeblaster, doubleclick, eyewonder

  • To protect our brand equity and the integrity of our editorial we won't accept creative that:

  • Appears to imitate any elements of the ninemsn homepage in order to make the audience think it's the real homepage

  • Alters the ninemsn brand or seeks to destroy, pull down or rip apart the ninemsn homepage

  • Ads which launch in a new browser window (pop up/pop under) will not be accepted

  • Ads that shake the browser window or interstitial (between page) will not be accepted

  • Streaming of additional external video assets is not permitted

  • Audio is off by default

  • It is preferred that OTPs have a solid background, but we will allow a transparent background for the OTP as long as it has an opacity of no less than 70%

  • Material must be delivered at least five (5) working days prior to campaign launch to ensure technical compatibility and internal concept approval

  • Please note if creative is late an estimated % of impressions equivalent to the prorated daily inventory level will be cancelled from the total impressions booked
