Sydney, Australia, Monday 16 March 2009: ninemsn Travel, in conjunction with Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs Tourism, is hosting a live web chat to assist people unsure about holiday options in the region in the wake of the Victorian Bushfires.

The live chat, taking place on travel.ninemsn.com.au from 5.00pm to 6.00pm AESDT, Thursday 19 March, will provide an interactive forum for people to ask Victorian travel expert and ninemsn Travel Insider Donna Wheeler questions about general travel to the region and whether already booked holidays will be impacted.

Yarra Valley & The Dandenongs Marketing CEO, Jennifer Hutchison said, "The ninemsn Travel Insider live chat is a great way to dispel confusion around travel to the Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs following the bushfires. Whilst there are some fire affected areas to avoid, almost everything is accessible and we still recommend the region as a great destination for tourists.

"We urge people with questions about travel to the region to join the web chat on ninemsn Travel this Thursday, especially if they have a holiday booked to the region. The tourism industry provides much needed support to the local businesses in this beautiful area – which is only a short 90 minute drive from Melbourne," Ms Hutchison continued.

People unable to participate in the live web chat at ninemsn Travel can visit www.yarravalleynow.com.au for general tourist information on the Yarra Valley and The Dandenongs.

ninemsn Travel Insiders are real people, on the ground at each ninemsn Travel destination. The Insider guides highlight the best ‘near the beaten track’ locations and activities and places to avoid, helping travellers to experience destinations like a local instead of a tourist.
