Ninemsn expands its entertainment offering with integrated Nokia Music downloads.
Sydney, Australia, Friday 30 October 2009: Ninemsn and Nokia Australia today announced a partnership to provide Nokia Music downloads through the ninemsn network.
The 12-month partnership will see Nokia Music integrated throughout the ninemsn network to drive traffic to a new co-branded music download site
ninemsn.music.nokia.com.au. This will be the first content distribution partnership for Nokia since it launched its online music store, Nokia Music Store, in April 2008.
Nokia Music Store will be easily accessible for ninemsn's audience of nearly 10 million Australians per month enabling Nokia Music to grow its audience and increase download numbers to the service.
Mike Sneesby, ninemsn's Director of Strategic Partnerships, describes the collaboration: "One of the most important factors in developing a great partnership is that the two companies have a natural fit. We are delighted to be partnering with Nokia to further extend ninemsn’s music and entertainment offering to our audience.
"Nokia Music will be integrated throughout the ninemsn network including ninemsn homepage, The Fix, Windows Live Messenger and ninemsn Shopping. Most popular downloads and latest releases will be integrated editorially across the site so the audience will be able to seamlessly read about an artist and download their tracks or albums."
Emile Baak, Nokia's managing director, Australia and New Zealand, said: "Australia is a popular market for Nokia Music Store downloads and it's important for us to build on its success and continue to grow our consumer base. Ninemsn has the largest reach in Australia and The Fix is the most popular online entertainment destination in the country so this partnership makes sense from a coverage and commercial standpoint."
People will be able to download individual tracks or complete albums straight to their computers or mobile phones from
ninemsn.music.nokia.com.au.
